While I am opposed to the position taken in the March 14 issue of The
Chronicle Review, "Legacy Admissions are Defensible...,"  I am in
agreement that of equal importance to the Michigan affirmative action
cases is the issue of what these authors call "the sorry state of
government support for elementary and secondary education."

As Ali pointed out yesterday, there is another very interesting piece
in the latest Chronicle that may be worth your time.
