The Media Group at Turku School of Economics and Business Administration
is seeking a research professor to direct funded research projects and
conduct research beneficial to media industries. The professorship is
initially available for a 2-3 year term.

Candidates for the position are required to have a doctoral degree in
business, economics, or communications and a record of research and
professional activity involving business aspects of media. Because of
current activities and plans for the centre, the candidate should have
an interest in cross media and digital media developments.

Housed in the university's Business Research and Development Centre, the
Media Group was found in 1989 and is now Europe's largest centre devoted
to economic, financial, and managerial research on media. The centre has
a budget of about 1.5 million Euros annually and has a staff of 10
full-time researchers.=20

The centre conducts research involving printing and publishing,
television, radio, film/video, advertising, and new media in Finland,
Europe, and world-wide. The centre's activities are funded by industry
associations, media companies, national and European government
agencies, and foundations.
