[Don't forget -- there is no capital shortage in the U.S., which is the only economic problem which a tax break for the rich could solve. -- Tom Condit]

(888) 280-6279 toll free (paid for by the AFL-CIO)
See below for what to do and talking points to help you with your call.
Call Your Senators and tell them "No Tax Breaks for Millionaires! Protect our Priorities: Education, Healthcare, the Environment, Social Security, Jobs."
ON WEDNESDAY, CALL (888) 280-6279 or see <http://action.ourfuture.org/ctt.asp?u=122222&l=1453>StopBudgetDisaster.com for local numbers, to FAX your Senator, and for more information.
This week, U.S. Senators will vote on a tax break worth hundreds of billions of dollars - most of which goes to those at the very top. Across America, funding for key priorities like our kids' education, healthcare, and environmental protections are being cut back; and unemployment is on the rise. Yet the president and some leaders in the Senate are pushing massive new tax breaks that would be paid for with MORE CUTS to vital programs and our Social Security money.
Call your Senator and tell them: "No tax breaks for millionaires!"
See below for what to do and talking points to help you with your call.
HERE'S WHAT TO DO:
1) Forward this email to 10 people you know.
2) Call the Capitol switchboard toll free at (888) 280-6279 (paid for by the AFL-CIO)
3) If you can't get through, try calling the switchboard yourself at (202) 224-3121 or visit <http://action.ourfuture.org/ctt.asp?u=122222&l=1453>StopBudgetDisaster.com to look up your Senators' local phone numbers.
4) Ask for your Senator by name and the switchboard operator will patch you through to their office. When you reach your Senator's office, ask to leave a message for the Senator.
5) Use the talking points below or deliver a personal message. Be sure to insist on leaving your name and address and ask for a letter back. As a constituent, you deserve to know how your Senator acts on your request.
6) After your call - Send a FREE FAX to your Senator by visiting <http://action.ourfuture.org/ctt.asp?u=122222&l=1453>StopBudgetDisaster.com. You can chose one of six messages to send your Senator and sign up to get more information.
HERE'S WHAT YOU CAN SAY:
I'm calling to ask the Senator to vote against the tax breaks this week. Most of the tax breaks will go to America's wealthiest, who need help the least.
I'm specifically concerned about America's deteriorating (chose one or more)
--Employment rate
--Education system
--Healthcare system
--Environmental protection system
--Social Security system
--Long-term financial health
I want the Senator to write me back to tell me how he/she voted on the tax breaks and how that vote will help strengthen (chose one or more)
--Jobs for all
--Our schools
--Healthcare in America
--Environmental protections
--Social Security
--America's long-term financial health
Thank you.
Thanks for making the call and doing your part!
