Greetings, All!
Well, I've updated the PWA-L mail list, and with the folks who signed
up Thursday at Jumpstart and at the PWA meeting, we now have 86!
writers subscribed to the list. (Strange, isn't it, how so many people
can be so quiet?)
Speaking of the Jumpstarters, et al.: Welcome! You've already
received a couple of messages -- one from the robot telling you how to
use the list; and one from Deborah Chester, with updates and
information about PWA. Now, it's your turn. Following the
instructions in the robot's message, compose a message to PWA-L that
briefly introduces you to all of us. Tell us where you came from, what
you want to write, and how we can help.
And speaking of Thursday's first meeting: There were about 15 at that
first meeting, who consumed 3.8 large pizzas on the spot (Traywick ate
the rest later...), had some interesting discussions, enlisted some
volunteers, and set some goals.
- The volunteers:
-- To resurrect and maintain the PW website: Matt
Buell; Krystal Traywick; Josh Whitmore; Ashley Hairrell
Among the features on the website: a newsletter and a page for posting
submissions for critique and constructive criticism -- something many
PWAers have asked for.
-- To explore community outreach possibilities: Kent Graham
-- To replace Melanie Wilderman as Student Leadership Council
rep: Krystal Traywick (see why we gave her the pizza?)
You've already heard that our next meeting is a field trip
to Border's in Norman. That's this coming Thursday at 7:30,
and the Border's manager has reserved us one of those tables back in
the back. Mmmm-mmm. Coffee and formaldehyde, with a touch of
chocolate.
Enough for now! Questions? Comments? Criticism? Send'em to
[log in to unmask] ...
Scribite!
