The version I have used (which was a few years ago) could crack passwords out of a local SAM file. It was handy for testing for easy passwords in a domain and also for those times when you've forgotten an admin password (or otherwise need to acquire it). -----Original Message----- From: Quyen Arana [mailto:[log in to unmask]] Sent: Monday, November 17, 2003 2:51 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: top ten stupid things I've done....help! I'm not sure how this is supposed to help. The program sniffs passwords from networked computers, and does not contain a boot option. It seems to operate by capturing authentication packets sent accross the network. q On Nov 17, 2003, at 2:27 PM, Jon Hamm wrote: > http://www.atstake.com/products/lc/ > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Brad Pazoureck [mailto:[log in to unmask]] > Sent: Monday, November 17, 2003 2:08 PM > To: [log in to unmask] > Subject: Re: top ten stupid things I've done....help! > > lophcrack > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Quyen Arana [mailto:[log in to unmask]] > Sent: Monday, November 17, 2003 2:07 PM > To: [log in to unmask] > Subject: top ten stupid things I've done....help! > > > I'm not sure, but this may be on the top of my stupid things list... > > I took a W2K web server off the domain, rebooted, then promptly forgot > (and can't find) the admin password.
