NWP special-focus networks invite writing project sites to become members or to renew their membership in the English Language Learners Network, Rural Sites Network, Teacher Inquiry Communities Network, and Urban Sites Network. Sites must be members to be eligible for a 2005-2006 minigrant.

NEW REPORT FEATURES LITERACY RESEARCH, STRATEGIES FOR PRACTICE --
The Alliance for Excellent Education has released Reading Next: A Vision for Action and Research in Middle and High School Literacy, a report that outlines 15 key elements of effective literacy intervention. The report, which embraces many of the NWP’s core beliefs, calls on public and private stakeholders to invest in the literacy of middle and high school students today while simultaneously building the knowledge base.
