Senate Dear Colleague letters. We set new records for the number of
signatures this year and are very grateful to all of you for your
efforts.

As you know, Rep. Ernest Jim Istook of Oklahoma's 5th district (Oklahoma
City, Seminole, Shawnee) serves on the House Appropriations Subcommittee
on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education. We are asking each
of you and ten others from your site to FAX or phone Rep. Istook by
Friday, May 13.  Teachers, administrators, and university chairs or
deans (especially those who live or work in the 5th district) should be
encouraged to contact him.
