Subject: request from JMCQ editor Dear Emmanuel, One of the things I've been trying to do is get the message to AEJMC members that Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly has "relaxed" its word-length requirement for submissions not using tables or appendices, and is seeking increased submission of theory-building work. I wrote a piece explaining this change that appeared as the editorial note in Quarterly earlier this year, and it also ran as a column in the AEJMC News. The same information on word length is now included in our "Instructions to Contributors" published in every issue. Yet when I mentioned this to members in San Antonio, several admitted they had seen neither! So much for me getting the word out. In fact, one colleague suggested that I see if divisional and interest group Web sites and listserves might post the column. Is this within the realm of possibility for your listserve or Web site? It's 565 words long. If this is not do-able or appropriate for what you do on your sites, please don't hesitate to say so.
