Lecture.

WHO: Mrs. Bernadette Adams Davis, award winning professional writer &
publisher of the first national calendar in honor of African American
women with naturally kinky hair

WHAT: Annual Ida B. Wells Lecture that spotlights the relationship
between the media and the African American community.  Davis will speak
on the afrocentric publishing industry and the craft of the magazine
freelancer.  She will also be autographic her historic collectible art
calendar, "Nappy New Year 2006."

WHERE: The ASU John L. Buskey Health Science Center Lecture Hall

WHEN: Tuesday, February 28, 2006, 11 a.m.

The lecture is free and open to the public.  Nappy New Year 2006
calendars are available at the Alabama State University Bookstore,
