- NWP Site Bulletin -

Thanks to your hard work, 30 Representatives have signed the House Dear Colleague letter as of today! This is quite an accomplishment in a single week, but we need more signatures to help make our case in D.C. The deadline for signatures is FRIDAY, MARCH 10. Please check below to see if your Representatives are listed. If not, please follow up by phone, email, or fax, and encourage them to co-sign. Members of the House can sign by contacting Joe Novotny of the House Education and the Workforce Committee at 202-226-2068 or [log in to unmask] (Please note that only Representatives, not members of the general public, should contact Mr. Novotny.) The Dear Colleague letter can be found on the NWP website: http://www.writingproject.org/Resources/dc.csp.

Some tips: Your Representatives may be encouraged to sign by knowing about others in the state who have already signed. If one of your House members is on the Appropriations subcommittee, it’s likely that he or she will not sign but could be (vocally) supportive.

Stay tuned for updates and, again, please know that your voices are definitely being heard in D.C. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact Genevieve Bennett at 510-643-2072 or [log in to unmask], or read the Feb. 24 and Feb. 28 Site Bulletins about the Dear Colleague letter at http://www.writingproject.org/Resources/sites/bulletins.csp#archive.
