Wow! Our April 8 Ballroom Dancers of Tulsa dance had the largest attendance ever - and the amazing dance demos were worth coming for even if you were not a dancer! Several more exciting things are coming:

1. On April 29 we are having another of our "extra" dances (in an effort to provide a chance at more floor space). The special theme is "Fabulous Forties", and we've asked our DJ Tim Hawkins to spin some tunes from that wonderful 1940's era. Come dressed for the era, or just come in "after 5" attire.

These "extra" dances have simpler decor and usually no lesson, but instructor Donna Beth Ingersoll has graciously offered to come from 7 - 8:00 to teach the Peabody, just for the fun and enjoyment of all! That information was not on our flyer, so please spread the word.

We are also excited to have dancers from the Monica Huggins Dance Theater (the new leading contemporary dance company) coming to share demonstrations with us at 9 and 10.

All this fun for the low price of $5 for members and students, and $10 for non-members. We will be at the Elks Lodge as usual (5335 S. Harvard). General dancing from 8 - 11.

A reminder - there is NO SMOKING AND NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL allowed in the Elks Lodge. We are pleased to have an excellent relationship with the Elks, and we do not want to damage that in any way. Please be sure to respect their policies.

2. Ballroom demo team!

Ballroom Dancers of Tulsa (BDT) is organizing a Demo/Exhibition Dance Team.  If you are interested in learning more about the project and possibly being a part of the BDT Demo Dance Team, please attend the meeting on the 29th at 3:00pm. This team will learn, practice, and present choreographed group ballroom dance routines at community events around the Tulsa area to promote ballroom dancing.  Being a part of the group will require a regular time commitment for practice, the exhibitions and a certain amount of expense for choreography and costumes.

We are looking for people who are able to dance the 6 "core" ballroom dances at a bronze level or above.  Cha-Cha, Foxtrot, East Coast Swing, Rumba, Tango and Waltz are the 'core' dances.

If you are unsure of your level, please fill out the form (attached or get one at the dance), and attend the planning meeting scheduled for Saturday, April 29th at the Elks Lodge (5335 S Harvard) at 3:00pm.

See you all on Saturday!
