Urban Agenda Communications Internship Urban Agenda is an action-oriented public-policy, research, and advocacy organization dedicated to building a stronger and more diverse labor movement and a socially, environmentally, and economically just New York City. To achieve these goals, we connect the labor movement and other social-justice organizations to create and push for progressive public policy. Urban Agenda seeks a motivated, self-starter to continue building the organization’s communications infrastructure. The intern will work closely with the Communications and Development Associate to do the following: Monitor Labor, Environment, Social Justice and Ethnic media sources for op-ed opportunities Write press releases and opinion pieces Write original content for the website Research various topics for use in various informational pieces Proof and edit material as needed Maintain the media database and media files Assemble media materials when needed The desired candidate will have the following qualifications: Excellent writing skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work with people Detail-oriented Well-organized Familiar with the issues that are important to the organization Knowledge of state and local politics in New York is a plus To apply please send your CV and a cover letter to [log in to unmask] with the subject line “Communications Intern”.
