I have added the following names to the PWA mail list. The robot probably won't send you any kind of welcome message, so herewith are some basic procedures and guidelines for using the list. (And you old-timers may chip in with your own words of welcome.)

    1. PWA-L is a mail list for the use of the OU professional writing students organization. The list is mainly for organizational chat and general administration -- but it's your list. Talk about whatever you want.

    2. To send a message to the list, use this address: [log in to unmask]. That gets it to everyone.

    3. To reply to a message on the list:

        - Use your mail reader's "reply" option. Make sure that '[log in to unmask]' is the "To:" addressee.

       - But please, please:

            -- Don't use the "reply all" option.

            -- Don't include the entire text of the original message in your reply. That leads to long, really-hard-to-read messages, especially after a couple of exchanges.
            Be friendly. Snip away all but a sentence or two -- just enough to remind us what the original was all about.

            -- Don't include the header of the original message in your reply. The header is full of addresses, which confuses the robot. A confused robot
