CALL FOR PEER REVIEWERS Alice A. Tait and Guy Meiss’ ALANA project that produced the recently published three-volume Ethnic Media in America continues its publishing efforts with Essays on African-American Media. Essays on African-American Media contains 20 essays focusing on ownership, control and management of media outlets targeting African Americans and the impact that mass media content aimed at African Americans has on its audiences. Essays on blogging, cable television, radio, the music industry and journalism are included. Tait, of Central Michigan University, and Arthur S. Hayes, of Fordham University, plan to have the anthology published by The Mellen Press no later than December 2007. To that end, the editors are seeking tenure professors or tenure-track faculty with published works on mass media and African Americans to review and provide valuable written comments on the essays. The essays average about 8,000 words and we would like to have teams of three reviewers assess the same essay. Reviewers would receive essays by early December and would be expected to return their assessments no later than mid-January. The text will provide a list of peer reviewers and their affiliations.
