Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to get the word out...
Due to many requests to hold Rueda class on a day other than Wednesday nights,
I've got some good news...
We've just been approved to get a new class going at The Swing Club in January!
If you know anyone who might be interested, I've started a sign-up list. I'm trying to keep track of how many males/females are signing up so that I can actively "recruit" the ones we are short on. If you have started a Rueda class before & had to drop out due to other obligations, here's your chance to start over! I suggest that any non-Salsa dancers with no Salsa experience take the basic class on Wed. at 7pm in December if at all possible. It helps to already know cross-body leads & open-break turns, but it is not required. I'll be teaching the very beginning steps anyway so that everyone will have a chance to master them. The class will close to new participants after the end of class on Wed, Feb. 3rd... Anyone wishing to join in the class after Feb. 3rd will need private lessons to catch up to the class & be integrated into the class. The purpose of closing the class is to allow for progression to more fun & complex turn patterns & partner exchanges in the Rueda circle. Those who are consistent with attending class will master the beginner level Rueda turn patterns in about three months. There are about 15 turn patterns & moves in the beginner curriculum. We will be doing a Rueda demonstration at the party this Saturday for those who have never seen what it looks like. I have the most fun dancing Salsa when I dance it in the Rueda! I can't help wanting to spread the fever so that we will have more Rueda dancers to dance with! Rueda dancers need each other to do what we do, so we "travel in packs" when we go out dancing. You definitely develop a whole new "circle" of friends in Rueda class! (AND you get to dance with about 10-20 different people in the span of one song!)
Please pass the word...
Debbie : )

PS: I'm looking for kids ages 10-15 to make a kids' Rueda during this 2pm class also.
