Making a Successful Punctuation Lesson
Mary Tedrow describes the interweaving of elements that went into creating one particularly effective lesson for her class: her own pedagogical knowledge, a timely newspaper column, collegial exchange, and students' readiness.
http://www.writingproject.org/cs/nwpp/print/nwpr/2372

Seeing Academic Writing with a New "I"
Students need to make personal connections and use the forbidden "I," Rebecca Feldbusch maintains. Insisting that they leave themselves out of their writing gives students the message that their own perceptions are not valuable.

Book Review: An Open Language: Selected Writing on Literacy, Learning, and Opportunity
Sondra Perl reviews An Open Language: Selected Writing on Literacy, Learning, and Opportunity, a selection of Mike Rose’s journal articles, book chapters, and newspaper and magazine articles dating from 30 years ago to the present, with commentary by Rose on the evolution of his work.

Skeletons Out of the Closet: The Case of the Missing 162% (NWP Classic)
In this 1995 article, we watch Bob Pressnall as he keeps revising his efforts to teach revision, telling students pointed stories, drawing cartoons, and finally devising a "skeleton." It is this last strategy that moves students closer to an understanding of how revision works.
