Interviews from the Griot Initiative, a grassroots national tour that brings StoryCorps directly into African American lives and communities across the nation, air on NPR's News and Notes. Assistant Producer's responsibilities include, but are not limited to: . Producing stories for national broadcast . Producing StoryCorps podcasts . Tracking tape for potential production use from various StoryCorps booths . Supervising and editing part-time staff and interns . Providing department with production and administrative support . Serving as an active member of the StoryCorps production team. Qualifications: . Minimum 2 years of work experience in producing audio for broadcast and the web. . Digital editing expertise including mixing music and audio. Knowledge of ProTools is a plus. . Excellent verbal and written communication skills. . Ability to work as part of a team in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced environment. . Ability to be flexible and adaptable, and contribute to problem-solving activities within a growing, changing organization. . Belief and interest in the mission of the project.
