Hi Guys, Here, answers to a few frequently asked questions about Ballroom Club: The SBDC offers ballroom lessons, Tuesday evenings beginning today (Tue Aug 28), 6:30-8:00pm for the Beginner Lessons, 8:00-9:00 for Intermediate, and 9:30-10:30 for Advanced. The lessons are held at the OU Union, on the 3rd floor in one of the rooms just off the ballroom. Dress is come-as-you-are, but we recommend shoes with little or no treads, so that you don't catch your foot on the floor when you're turning and torque your knee out (ouch!). No partner or experience is needed - we all dance with each other and we teach at all levels. Cost is $15 per session for college students, $20 for non-students (1 session=5 weeks). These dues cover any and all lessons you'd like to take during each five-week period, Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced, or all three. You can register just by showing up at class; we don't do pre-registration. For Aug-Sep, the dances will be: foxtrot, rumba, swing. For Oct: waltz, salsa, nightclub two-step (NOTE: not country two-step -- these are totally different dances.) For Nov: tango, cha cha, and either hustle or west coast swing (that's currently under discussion by the SBDC officers). We also make regular excursions up to the dance studios in OKC on the weekends and get together informally on campus during the week to dance for fun and hang out.
