Hi guys - Please see below... Would folks like to do a special event station or Field Day-type setup for the National Weather Festival? What about weather radio programming? We should figure this out before the next meeting! My involvement will be limited because my parents are going to be in town that weekend. Thanks! Subject: Amateur Radio involvement at the National Wx Festival Hi Robin, I sent this last week to some people in the building, but I neglected to include the OU amateur radio club. Please look this over and let me know what you think. I know the SCARS group is discussing their possible involvement at their upcoming meeting. As you may know, the National Wx Festival is set for Sat Oct 20th. One of the things I made note of last year was to try to include amateur radio in a much more prominent way in 2007. I don't have any concrete ideas for how to do that, but I thought it would be a great opportunity to showcase amateur radio, either with some type of ARRL and/or SCARS display in the atrium, or maybe even a field day-like set-up outside. Another thing I thought of would be to set up weather radio programming at the festival, and maybe we could enlist the aid of some local amateurs to assist with that? Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions??? It's pretty open at this point. Do you think something like this would be a good idea?
