Dear Robert,
I am stunned to hear this news, and sad to hear that Jesús had suffered a
long illness in his young life. Are there any plans for a scholarship
fund that you’ve heard about? It would be wonderful if the AHCT could do
something like that, to encourage young scholars.
Saludos,
Charles

Tu lo has

que no has

Dear Dr. Lauer:
There has not yet been a formal announcement although some have begun to
contribute. I am certain the Languages & Literature Department
will want to consider a scholarship as soon as they recover from the
shock and complete the memorial service which is scheduled on campus
Tuesday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. I will share your email by copy with
Sharon Hileman, the department chair, and our Associate Vice President
for Development, Leo Dominguez.
Thank you for your expression of sympathy and caring.
Vic

- Dear Dr. Morgan:
- The news has reached many of us in Academia that Dr. Jesús Tafoya
passed on on Monday. Many of us knew him well. Are there
plans to establish a scholarship fund in his name? Some of us would
contribute to it. Please let me know and I will pass the news to
others.
- Sincerely,
- A. Robert Lauer
