Dear OM/NM colleagues,
Until today I didn't have the confirmation from my University (Javeriana) about our proposal for hosting OurMedia/NuestroMedios 8 in our campus, July 13 to 18, 2009. That is why I didn't write before to the whole network.
Nevertheless, I am pleased to inform you that this afternoon Antonio Roveda, Director of the Communication Department, confirmed me that our event has been approved to be held in our campus on those dates, and that our Faculty will contribute with approximately US$10.000 on top of the organization cost.
By the end of this month I will send a list with the names of the members of our Local Committee which will assume the organization of this event, made of colleagues from other universities and organizations working on participatory communication.

Estimados compañeros OM/NM,
Hasta el día de hoy no tenía una confirmación de la Universidad Javeriana sobre la propuesta de acoger en sus instalaciones el evento de Our Media/Nuestros Medio 8, entre julio 13 y 18, 2009, por eso no escribí antes.
Sin embargo, tengo a bien comunicarles ahora que esta misma tarde he recibido la confirmación del Director de la carrera, el Dr. Antonio Roveda, de que el evento ha sido aprobado, y que la Universidad Javeriana, además de los aspectos logísticos, hará un aporte inicial de 10,000 US$ dólares para ese fin.
Al final de noviembre enviaré una lista de los miembros del comité local que se hará cargo de la organización del evento, y en el que participarán colegas de varias universidades y también de organizaciones especializadas en comunicación participativa.
