APPOINTMENT:
Full-time, three-year position with possibility of renewal for second
three-year term; begins Fall Term 2009.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach
all levels of Spanish language, culture, and literature courses. Standard
teaching assignment is three courses per semester. Other duties include
continuation of professional development, involvement in activities sponsored by
the department, and participation in departmental governance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D. (ABD considered) in Latin American literature; open field. Ability
to teach courses in Latino Studies highly desirable. Experience with language
program coordination strongly preferred. A strong background in language
teaching; native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English, and a commitment
to undergraduate teaching and liberal arts education also
required.
RANK AND SALARY: Visiting Assistant
Professor; salary commensurate with education and
experience.
