I, too, was at the State of the Division panel at AEJMC and was inspired by Dr. Barrow's account of his efforts for AEJMC and MAC. I hope that AEJMC will at least match whatever our division gives, since his efforts ultimately worked for the betterment of all. He also made it clear that mass communication education at the doctoral level still needs to be opened up to a wider audience. -Brad Bradley W. Gorham, Ph.D. Associate Professor, Communications S.I. It was a humbling experience to hear MAC's history first-hand, as well as his aspirations for the division. I would like to see MAC make a more significant contribution to the scholarship fund, and to secure a matching contribution from AEJMC given his legacy and pivotal leadership for both. Consider this virtual discussion following the motion before it is put to a vote. (I'll need it for the records.) I move that we use MAC funds to send flowers or a donation of up to $100 to a charity of the Barrow's family choosing in honor of Dr. Lionel Barrow, Jr. Note: The 9/30/2008 balance in the MAC treasury was $5387.22 Sharon B.
