Get a head start on Mother's Day

Local author and humorist Kay Bishop is one of fifty authors appearing in My Mom Is My Hero, an anthology of stories honoring mothers edited by Susan Reynolds, released just in time for Mother's Day.

Filled with tributes to the women who gave us life, love, and clean laundry, the mothers captured are uniquely impressive, inspirational, colorful, funny, quirky, outrageous, brave, generous and forgiving and--above all--memorable. Young as well as wizened voices provide something for every reader. Stories are alternately poignant, sweet, humorous, heartwarming, and heartbreaking.

Kay coaches creativity workshops for businesses, churches, students and teachers for the Oklahoma Writing Project. For more than twenty years, her humor has been published in books, literary and teen magazines, and newspapers. She pioneered into standup comedy in Austin and won her first short story slam in Oklahoma City by ratting out her neighbor who had seventeen bass boats.

Kay is available for humorous readings, book talks, and interviews. She is conducting the twelve-week ART OF CREATIVE LIVING workshop for group or corporations. Need more info? www.letslightenup.blogspot.com or email her at [log in to unmask]
