FW: Vacancy_Assistant Professor in the area of Communication and Social Change
The School of Communication at Simon Fraser University invites applications for a
tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Communication
and Social Change.
Qualified candidates should have a Ph.D. with research specialization related to
communication and social change, such as the following fields: social historical
approaches to the transition from old to newer media, including industries and regulatory
regimes; issues around urban communication, environmental communication, and/or
health communication; communication and the transformation in gender, labour, and
other forms of social power relations; advocacy and/or activist communication; public
or political communication in relation to social change.
Duties will include undergraduate and graduate teaching, research and service. In
addition to having an active research agenda in the field of communication and social
change, including scholarly publications, the qualified candidate will have experience
teaching in the field.
