Warming
FACING THE
HAVOC
Aroop Talukdar
About the
book:
Needless to say that global warming and climate
change now have become a burning issue particularly for the under developed and
developing countries globally for which the environment world wide is also
changing fast than ever in human history.
In Bangladesh, adverse impacts
of the climate change, meanwhile, hit tremendously creating almost panicky
situation allover. In the southern Bangladesh particularly gradual climatic
changes have already been vividly exposed.
The UN's Inter governmental
Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) earlier predicted that climate change will have a
graver effect and Bangladesh is no exception to that. The country exposed to
adverse impacts of climate change mainly due to its geophysical
existence.
The articles included in this book virtually depicted the
awful conditions of the people living in the vast southern part and else where
of the country who become the easy prey of exploitations in various ways, now
facing the devastating havoc of the natural calamities due to climate
change.
Now it needs to act quickly and develop new strategic concepts
and theories, assessments, recommendations as well as endeavor through
international collaboration and partnership in combating the catastrophe of the
widespread global warming.
