Subject: Future of Local Media Event 22nd September

 

        In Association with the Nations and Regions Media Conference

Ofcom and the University of Salford invite you to an event exploring the future of local media on 22 September 2009.
 
The event will provide an opportunity for key players across the media to engage with each other and with Ofcom at this crucial time.
 
The day will include keynote speeches from Stewart Purvis, Ofcom Partner for Content and Standards, and William Perrin, founder of Talk About Local and former Tony Blair Communications Policy Advisor, and will be chaired by writer and broadcaster Steve Hewlett.
 
The event will include sessions on the Independently Funded News Consortia proposition and on options for securing a sustainable, long-term future for local media provision.
 
The event will take place at the Innovation Centre, Salford on Tuesday 22 September 2009 between 10.30am and 3.00pm.
 
The event is free of charge but places are limited so please register with us by completing your details below by Friday 4th September.
 
This event is in association with the 17th annual Nations and Regions Media Conference which will next take place on 18 and 19 January 2010 at The Lowry, Salford.
