FROM THE EDITORQuick update: The next WritersMarket.com newsletter will not be delivered until September 17, which is why I'm highlighting three upcoming October writing contests at the end of August instead of the beginning of September.
If you'd like to discuss publishing and writing on the next two Fridays, please meet me on Twitter at the #pubtalk hashtag between 1-3 p.m. Atlanta, Georgia, time. For updates leading up to those two talks and other publishing advice, please follow me on Twitter @robertleebrewer.
Here's a quick weekend assignment: If you don't have a Twitter account, create one. They are free, fast and easy to set up. This site can be over-hyped at times, but there's no denying it's one more social media tool that allows you to connect with other writers and publishing professionals. (Click here if to read my Twitter cheat sheet.)
Until next we meet, keep writing and marketing what you write.Robert Lee Brewer

I'm making assignments for the 2012 Writer's Market and 2012 Poet's Market. The deadlines are fast approaching, so read over the guidelines and make a pitch now (click the links to view the full submission guidelines):
Call for Submissions to the 2012 Writer's Market(Deadline: 8/31) Call for Submissions to the 2012 Poet's Market(Deadline: 9/7)While I may be interested in very high profile interviews for both books, I'm mostly looking for business-related pieces that will appeal to writers. For instance, reaching and building audiences, negotiating contracts, handling taxes, arranging and managing readings and book signings, etc. Think about what information writers need to find more success.
And read the submission guidelines!
