During the month
of February, The Pentagon Channel will
air Deeds Not Words: The Buffalo Soldiers
in World War II. The program
is produced, written, edited and
narrated by James A. Rada, an Associate Professor in the John H. Johnson School
of Communications at Howard University.
Deeds Not Words: The Buffalo Soldiers inWorld War II is the true
story of one the last segregated army units as told by the men themselves. Included in the documentary areinterviews with the Director of the Army War College, the daughter of one of
the white officers in the unit, and one of the 92nd’s biggest supporters – former Chair of
the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Colin Powell.
The Pentagon Channel (TPC) is a TV channel broadcasting military
news and information for the 2.6 million members of the U.S. Armed Forces. It
is widely available on US cable television and through DirecTV to approximately
40 million households.
TPC can also be viewed overseas via the AFN networks and via the
Internet at www.pentagonchannel.mil.
