Around the world, there are more than 350 million people affected by nearly 7000 rare diseases<http://rarediseases.info.nih.gov/RareDiseaseList.aspx?PageID=1>. On the ultimate rare day---February 29th---millions of people around the world will be observing Global Rare Disease Day<http://www.rarediseaseday.org/> to raise awareness of these rare diseases.

In conjunction with Global Rare Disease Day, we will be hosting the 2nd Annual Rare Disease Day Symposium on Saturday, February 25 at the Sanford Research Center in Sioux Falls.

The Symposium will feature presentations from experts around the United States and from here at Sanford. Presentations will also cover research efforts such as the CoRDS registry and the Sanford Health Biobank that are designed to help accelerate research efforts into these rare diseases.

The Symposium also offers an opportunity to learn from these experts and venue by which we will gather researchers, physicians and community members. Please share this information with amyone who may be interested in attending!

We have attached the Symposium Invitation. Please note that breakfast and lunch will be provided. We ask that you register by Friday, February 17 so we can plan accordingly.
We hope this will be a great opportunity to gather healthcare professionals, researchers and members of our community affected by rare disease.

Click HERE<http://www.sanfordresearch.org/ClassLibrary/Page/Images/files/RDD_Registration.pdf> to register. Please email [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> with any questions about the Symposium or visit the CoRDS website www.sanfordresearch.org/cords<http://www.sanfordresearch.org/cords> for more details.

We hope you can join us for this event!

Best regards,
