Registration is now open!Powerful Patient Data: Genomics and Family Health History in Health ITSalt Lake City | May 30-31, 2013Family health history and genetic/genomic information face similar barriers to use in patient care. Collection of this information can be sensitive and often impacts a patient's family members. Even when the information is collected, the data is rarely stored in a way that allows it to be used to its full potential. And yet, this information has significant potential for use in screening and diagnosis for an individual and their family. Genetic Alliance and Intermountain Healthcare are holding a summit with the goal of ensuring that this important information can be accessed and activated within the electronic medical record to drive better patient care. We hope to achieve the following outcomes through this summit. - A defined “use case” that illustrates effective collection, flow, and utilization of this patient data within our information technology ecosystem
- Increased awareness of current use of genetic/FHH data within EMRs
- Increased awareness of tools for collection of FHH
- Next steps regarding standards and public policy
- Establishment of a mechanism for future collaboration
The summit will feature both a technology demonstration and vendor exhibits. If you are interested in giving a demo, please apply during the registration process. If you would like to exhibit, please contact Tetyana Murza using the information below. |
