More info from Dr. Fulton:

They are aiming to begin the training sessions sometime late July-early August (which may be problematic for me, as my stepdaughter and grandchildren are coming July 23 and staying until August 9, but we'll see).
Boards cost $12.
They are going to provide the software to those who want to learn it.
If you sign up and then find you can't participate, it's OK. He just wants to get a good feel for the interest level right now so he can be sure to have enough boards.

I have used those, things, too, but sometimes it's worth trying to learn it even if I may never make another significantly crowded board again! I do, however, have a couple of R-Pi projects where specialty interface boards might be interesting...
