Martha
and Frances Award
Honoree: Freeda Richardson
Freeda
Richardson exemplifies all that the Oklahoma Writing Project celebrates. She has been an active OWP Teacher
Consultant since 1987. She served
on the OWP Board for many of the years it was in place and has conducted
numerous writing workshops on both the state and national levels. Her WRITING FROM PHOTOGRAPHS is one of
the best and most popular with both teachers and students, and it was well
received this year in April by students who attended the workshop arranged by
the Metropolitan Library System of Oklahoma County. OWP professes that a teacher
of writing should write and Freeda does. Her poetry has been published in the
NCTE English Journal, and she is active in a writing group. Freeda Richardson is
an outstanding OWP TC. Her
dedication to writing and the teaching of writing makes her the perfect
recipient for this honor.
Congratulations!
