Description: The Department of Communication at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, seeks applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor to begin August 2015 with specialization in interpersonal communication.

Candidates will develop advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in their areas of specialization. The ideal candidate also should have experience in teaching an introduction to communication studies course and research methods courses.

Ours is one of 19 departments in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences. We currently serve over 450 B.A. and 35 M.A. students. Our 13 tenure-track faculty members are expected to publish regularly, teach required courses as well as those in their specialty areas, engage in service activities, and advise graduate students. Professors in our department typically teach two classes per semester.
Minimum Requirements: Qualifications include a Ph.D. in Communication, demonstrated competency in the classroom, and evidence of an active research program commensurate with institutions holding the highest Carnegie classification.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas are preferred: health communication, family communication, new media and relationships, or communication and conflict.

We are searching for three Assistant Professors based on the following position descriptions:
Position 1: Assistant Professor of Interpersonal Communication or Persuasion/Social Influence. Applicants should demonstrate a high proficiency in quantitative and/or qualitative methodology. Further, applicants’ research agendas should bridge interpersonal or persuasion/social influence communication with an applied specialty interest area.
Position 2: Assistant Professor of Intercultural/International Communication. Applicants should demonstrate a high proficiency in a particular research methodology. Futher, applicants’ research agendas should bridge intercultural/international communication with an applied specialty interest area.
Position 3: Assistant Professor whose research addresses collective/group decision-making (such as public dialogue and deliberation, community/civic engagement, or global development). This appointment would help advance the work of Kansas State University’s Institute for Civic Discourse and Democracy. The successful candidate will:

The Department of Communication Studies at Colorado State University seeks an entry-level assistant professor who specializes in organizational communication and uses mixed or quantitative research methods. This is an entry-level, tenure-track, nine-month appointment which starts August 16, 2015.
