Since this position aims to fill a sudden vacancy, the length of contract is short. But the department is working on additional grants to invite lecturers and researchers working in English.

for the post of lecturer at the Department of Media Studies and Journalism.
The post is related to the project “Internationalization, innovation, praxis: education in social sciences for the 21st century (SOVA 21)” (“Internacionalizace, inovace, praxe: sociálně-vědní vzdělávání pro 21. století”) financed by the Operational Programme Education for Competitiveness > 2.2 Higher education (ESF).
The successful candidate is expected to • hold a Ph.D. in one of these fields: media studies, communication research, journalism, sociology (we prefer Ph.D. graduates from foreign universities or, as an equivalent, experience of working at foreign universities) • have excellent command of English (CAE, CPE certificates or their equivalent) • have teaching experience (s/he will teach two courses a semester)
We welcome candidates with a focus on • comparative media studies • communication technologies (history of technologies, science and technology studies) • multimedia / new media • methods and techniques in media research • political economy of media
