Tenure-track assistant professor

The School of Arts and Humanities at Keene State College seeks qualified applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication and Philosophy to begin August 2015 and who will join an interdisciplinary, humanities-based department, which includes communication and philosophy.

The successful candidate will teach introduction to communication studies, theory of communication and rhetoric, and a senior project course in rotation (teaching load is six courses per academic year). In addition to teaching lower and upper-level topic courses in their areas of focus, other courses might include ethics and research methods in communication. Candidates will have digital culture and/or digital technology as a focus in teaching and research. Applicants can use any methodological or theoretical perspective in communication. Areas of specialization may include ethics of digital culture or technology, cyberculture, or global communication. Candidates may have professional experience in digital technology, but this position is not in media production.

Additional responsibilities include advising students and service to the department and the College, which may include mentoring undergraduate research and supervising internships on and off campus. As part of regular teaching responsibilities at this public liberal arts college, all faculty members are expected to teach courses that serve both their department and the Integrative Studies Program (general education). Qualifications Required: Earned doctorate in Communication by August 1, 2015, for appointment as Assistant Professor; evidence of teaching excellence; have an active research agenda.

Current rank minimum for an Assistant Professor is $61,720. Subject to change with anticipated Collective Bargaining Unit Agreement. An earned doctorate is required for the rank of Assistant Professor; A.B.D. will be considered for Instructor's rank. Salary at the rank of Instructor will be based on Collective Bargaining Unit Agreement, and was at $54,950 minimum in fall 2014.

2 tenure-track Assistant/Associate professors

RANK: The Department of Consumer Science, Purdue University, invites applications for two (2) tenure-track Assistant/Associate professors in the broad areas of Communication, Economics, Finance, Financial Planning, Sales, Marketing, Psychology, Public Health, Sociology or closely related fields.

SPECIALIZATION & RESPONSIBILITIES: We are seeking applicants who can demonstrate their potential for high-impact research, external funding, and teaching in the broad areas of social and behavioral science. We seek scholars in research areas related to the health, behavior, and quality of life of consumers. Our faculty members are a unique multi-disciplinary blend of researchers. Prospective candidates will be encouraged to collaborate both within the department and across the university. Current faculty members have appointments and/or collaborations with the departments of Communication, Economics, Nursing, Psychology, Sociology, Health and Kinesiology, Engineering & Technology. Applicants who can contribute to the multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary research strength of the department in addressing health and human behavior are strongly encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will be responsible for initiating, conducting, and publishing research, including seeking internal and external funding; teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; and participating in service and outreach activities.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in the areas mentioned above. Evidence of a strong research program/ plan and teaching potential is desired. Advanced junior faculty or those with a record of successful Post-Doctoral work are encouraged to apply.
