Abstracts are currently being accepted to participate in the 2015 National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) at Eastern Washington University (April 16-18, 2015).  NCUR is an interdisciplinary conference where students representing universities and colleges from all around the U.S., and internationally, will present their research and creative works in oral, poster and performance/visual arts presentations.  For more information, visit www.cur.org/ncur_2015/.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

Abstracts should…

  1. State, in clear terms, the central research question and the purpose of the research.
  2. Provide a brief discussion of the research methodology.
  3. State conclusions and significance.
  4. Include text only (no images or graphics).
  5. Be well organized.

Other formatting guidelines:

  1. References are allowed within abstracts but not required.
  2. The form will not process all formatting and special characters (e.g., scientific symbols). Use plain text format for your abstract.  There is space in the form to include a link to online documentation, formulas, images, music files, etc. in support of your submission.  You may use this space to provide a link to a location to view your abstract in its original form.
  3. Abstracts are usually 250-300 words long.  They should be no more than 450 words in length.

Have the following information available when submitting your abstract:

  1. Name and e-mail address for each faculty mentor and co-author
  2. Undergraduate Research Office Coordinator (UROC) name, e-mail address, and phone number:

Note: OK-LSAMP Scholars should list Fara Williams ([log in to unmask], 405-744-7820) as the UROC.

  1. Presentation type: oral, poster, visual arts, or performing arts
  2. Field of study (Click here for the complete list.)

Two abstracts per primary author are permitted.  There is no limit on the number of abstracts submitted per co-author.

All abstracts will undergo a rigorous review by a panel of faculty reviewers.  Abstract reviewers will evaluate submissions based on the criteria listed above and will assess overall merit within the context of the specific academic discipline.

Note: The title and author(s) of your abstract will appear EXACTLY as they are entered in the abstract submission form.  Please double check punctuation and spelling before submitting.
