Dear Program Directors,

 

Do you know undergraduates who are looking for a unique research experience this summer? The Biophysical Society is currently accepting applications for the Summer Research Program in Biophysics, with a priority deadline of February 16.

 

The program takes place May 12 – July 31 in North Carolina. NIH provides full funding for this course, including travel, housing, meals, course costs, and a stipend. This program will introduce minority and underrepresented students to the field of biophysics, an interdisciplinary subject that applies the principles of physics, math, and chemistry to biology. Students will:

- participate in lectures and seminars on the dynamic and growing field of biophysics.

- work in a lab on their own independent research project.

- meet faculty members from graduate programs across the country. 

 

The Biophysical Society Summer Research Program takes place at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Summer Program participants at UNC will:

- take a weekend beach trip with other summer students to the nearby Atlantic Ocean.

- visit Duke University labs and gardens, located only 20 minutes from Chapel Hill.

- spend the summer living and enjoying the culture of beautiful Chapel Hill!

 

Applicants can be continuing undergraduates or finishing their degree this spring.
