Oklahoma Writing Project Invitational Summer Institute
Oklahoma Writing Project brings together experienced teachers to attend our annual summer institute held in Norman. Together, these teachers prepare for leadership roles by demonstrating their most effective practices, studying research, and improving their knowledge of writing by writing themselves. Participants will present a demonstration of their best practices as a culminating project that includes student work samples. Housing scholarships are available for teachers living outside a 50-mile radius of Norman.
The Oklahoma Writing Project 2015 invitational summer institute for teachers will be held all day (8:45 am-4:00 pm) for three weeks in June (June 8-11; 15-18; and 22-25) in Norman. The Power of Teaching symposium will be June 26 from 8:30 am-12:30 pm. Attendance is required by all summer institute participants. There is one required pre-institute full-day orientation meeting on April 25 in Norman on the University of Oklahoma campus. An interview is also required and will be held on April 11 in the morning on the University of Oklahoma campus
