Dear PDQNet Core Research Team (CRT),
This is a forwarded email since the first test of the listserv apparently did not go through.
We are launching, in earnest, our listserv for the CRT for the duration of the PDQNet project. In February, or perhaps earlier this month, each of you received an email from the SPEEDY.OUHSC.EDU
LISTSERV Server (16.0) [log in to unmask], and if you’re like me, you may have looked at it and thought “What the heck is this?!” (I did get this very reaction from others.) What you got received at that
time a “computer geek-looking” message that gets automatically generated as soon as anyone’s name is added, no matter what. You need not worry about it.
Here’s what you really need to know:
·
Using a listserv is a good way for us to communicate with the full project team and keep track of things to help in later reporting to PCORI. So, for anything that the full team
needs to know or anything that everyone needs to weigh in on, this is the email address to use:
[log in to unmask]. Please put it in your contacts. Having this email address (see Outlook business card above) is all really you need to keep track of, unless you are
curious about how the listserv works, and if so, there is an enclosure that gives more detail. Btw, a copy of this enclosure is attached to the PDQNet SmartSheet.
·
Keep in mind that
every message that you use the listserv address for is sent to
everyone on the listserv. The listing was recently updated because our community partners now have their own listserv
(more on that later). Here is the current list of names on the PDQNet CRT listserv:

As you can see, this includes the lead researchers (and any back-up staff) at the three sites, plus the project’s content experts whose expertise and involvement
comes into play at certain points in the project timetable. We want to keep the content experts informed, so we included them, but we also do not want them to feel inundated, so I guess that Liz, Ken & Rob will have to let me know if they’d prefer to be
left off the listserv except for the time periods when they are more actively involved.
·
We will still use individual email addresses for lots of emails, of course, because there are many things that represent detailed or minor exchanges or which are not-ready-for-prime
time matters a couple of us may be debating how to approach via email. These are the sorts of things that don’t rise to the level of a CRT listserv posting.
I mentioned above that there is also a new PDQNet Community Leadership Team (CLT) listserv. I’ll address that in a forthcoming email.
Thanks for your patience on all this, everyone!
Barbara
