By the middle of the 18th C, the Spanish zarzuela had given way to Italian influences that brought opera to Madrid in the persons of the new Court Maestro de Capilla, Francisco Courcelle, and the celebrated castrato, Farinelli.

Join us to hear works of Courcelle, of José de Nebra, composer of zarzulas and organist of the Capilla Real, and of Pablo del Moral as they would have been heard in Madrid’s Teatro de la Cruz and the Opera House in the Buen Retiro Park, which the Ambassador of the Court of Saint James described as second to none in the world!!

Featuring sopranos Anna Popova, Jendi Tarde, alto Nichola Garza, and violinist Veronika Vassileva playing the famous Devil’s Trill Sonata of Tartini.

$25/$10 students/ Family plan
