Cluster Hire in Race, Indigeneity, Gender, Sexuality

College of Liberal Arts

University of Minnesota

The College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities is pleased to announce openings for four tenure track and tenured faculty positions for scholars with research interests that engage broadly with indigeneity, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and critical race theory.  This hiring initiative will add faculty engaged with the scholarly traditions represented by the Race, Indigeneity, Gender and Sexuality (RIGS) Initiative.  This search is part of a collaborative effort between the RIGS departments and units in the College of Liberal Arts: African American and African Studies, American Studies, American Indian Studies, Asian American Studies, Chicano and Latino Studies, and Gender Women and Sexuality Studies.  One of the positions will be a tenured position in the Department of Chicano and Latino Studies. The remaining three positions are open rank, tenure track or tenured positions in one of the RIGS departments, with the potential for joint appointments with other CLA departments.

We invite applications for tenure track and tenured faculty members at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor for positions to begin Fall 2016. We are seeking candidates who are engaged in inventive scholarship around race, class, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, sovereignty, and inequality. We welcome applications from candidates who employ a wide variety of approaches, including qualitative or quantitative methods, and critical and comparative scholarship.  Applications received by October 1, 2015 will receive first consideration; but applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.
