Tenure Track Assistant Professor Job Description

 

The University of Indianapolis, Department of Communication, invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Communication position with expertise in television broadcasting, audio & video production and mass media criticism. 

Teaching Responsibilities:  To teach classes in audio and video production, applied television, and television directing; as well as some combination of media genres and criticism, research methods, political communication, writing for the electronic media or other courses that reflect the successful candidate’s expertise.  Teaching duties come with the expectation that some evening and weekend work will be necessary to televise and/or stream university events. 

Other Responsibilities: The successful candidate is expected carry out an ongoing research agenda and provide service to the department, university and/or discipline. 

Qualifications:  A Ph.D. or other terminal degree in Communication or a Communication related field.  ABD will be considered.  Teaching experience and evidence of teaching effectiveness.
