Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Communication

The University of Indianapolis, Department of Communication, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Communication position with expertise in television broadcasting, audio and video production, and mass media criticism. This is a full-time, nine-month faculty position with a start date of August 2016.

 

Teaching Responsibilities: To teach classes in audio and video production, applied television, and television directing, as well as some combination of media genres and criticism, research methods, political communication, writing for the electronic media, or other courses that reflect the successful candidate’s expertise. Teaching duties come with the expectation that some evening and weekend work will be necessary to televise and/or stream University events.

 

Other Responsibilities: The successful candidate is expected to carry out an ongoing research agenda and provide service to the department, University and/or discipline.

 

Qualifications:  A PhD or other terminal degree in communication or a communication-related field. ABD will be considered. Teaching experience and evidence of teaching effectiveness is preferred.
