Do you know of any Native programmers who maybe interested in participating in

Tribeca Film Institute Hackathon innovation workshop? We are having a terrible time locating Native technologist. The event has been already postponed once and the next (and the last opportunity for Oklahoma is February 4-7, 2016.

 

 

here’s the description language for technologists:

 

Back and Front end developers:

Someone familiar with buildout of mobile experiences, websites, and apps.

 

Back end: Skilled at a number of these languages: C/C++, Java, Python, Ruby, PHP, SQL

 

Front end: Skilled at a number of these languages HTML/5, Javascript, CSS. XML based languages

What is Hackathon?

 

In an age where superhero movies, big-budget sequels and endless franchise reboots dominate multiplexes, it’s easy for cinephiles to bemoan the film world’s lack of originality and innovation, but that would mean that they’re not looking in the right places. The truth is, film is currently in a majorly creative and forward-thinking space—it’s just largely happening beyond the mainstream. Tribeca Hacks is at the forefront of it all. It is focused on “creating storytelling for the future" via the gadgets people use on a daily basis, from laptops to smartphones and iPads. .

Tribeca Hacks <NDN Identity> invites Native American and Pacific Islander storytellers, technologists, filmmakers, and visual artists, to come together and create projects that explore notions of Identity. It calls for thinkers to ideate, imagine, program, and build platforms that can enter the discourse about Identity in alternative ways.  In partnership with Vision Maker Media, Tribeca Film Institute, Bacone College, Pacific Islanders in Communications, and OETA, the Hackathon will feature creative talent from across the U.S., Dec. 3-6, 2015, in Muskogee, Okla., and focus on Identity.
