Hi Lyndee,

Thanks much.  We will discuss the prompt and two other items we need to nail down launch of concept mapping at our next call on Thursday.

To try and answer your question: you’ll be facilitating the participation of a minimum of 25 members/representatives of “research-engaged” org(s) – presumably just LHA? – at your site, and also a minimum of 5 PBRN members (LANet advisory committee folks or clinicians in your PBRN?).  You & Ginger know best who will be in this group.  I always thought it was going to be LHA promotoras and other managers – at least that was the impression I got from Gloria, Ginger & you when I visited LHA.  I think it might have been after you left that day, but they said that the group enjoyed discussions that engage their opinions and they often go on much longer than they are asked!

Barbara - if the audience is Latino Health Access managers -then the prompts you sent are fine. If the audience is their community members/patients -then the prompts I've reworded below would be better:

The way researchers and people who discover new ways to improve health can do a better job for my community is...

We need new knowledge and information about the following things that have to do with health of families in my community/neighborhood....

PLEASE Everyone,

In light of what Ken has shared (and I summarized), would you update, revise, or re-state your latest and best suggestion for a PROMPT for the PDQNet Process TODAY!!

Please review the enclosed document that provides 1) guidance for developing a PDQNet concept mapping prompt, 2) some sample prompts used with other projects, and 3) the list of prompt ideas thus far suggested by members of our team.  Then, rethink your prompts (or those of others) and write (or rewrite) your suggestions in bold in a listserv reply.

I’m happy to start.  I would ditch all of my prior suggestions for various reasons, e.g. wouldn’t lead to action, too confusing, too hard to answer, too long, etc.  Here’s my latest suggestions, which certainly are not perfect, but perhaps getting closer:

“A specific action that would help communities communicate to researchers what matters most to them about health care is … “

“A specific action that would help communities engage with researchers about what matters most to them about health care is … “

I look forward to seeing yours!  Let’s have an active exchange and hopefully develop a consensus by Friday.
