Oklahoma Writing Project is excited to offer a summer institute opportunity for educators in western Oklahoma.

Writing on the Prairie, an Oklahoma Writing Project summer institute, will be held from 8:30-3:00 pm on July 11-14; July 18-21; July 25-28 at the Western Technology Center in Weatherford. 

Teachers of all grades and subjects interested in incorporating writing into their instruction are encouraged to apply. Space is limited to only 12 teachers. A total of 72 PD hours will be earned by participating in workshops, hands-on activities, and research as well as developing a best practice ELA presentation. 

The cost is $300, and the online registration deadline is April 29.

Schools may use Title funds to pay registration fees. Fees may be paid AFTER July 1.

This institute will focus on best classroom practices as new Oklahoma Academic Standards.  Teachers who participate will be ready to share with schools about how to implement integrated writing instruction into the school day.
