Call for Abstracts and Panel Proposals
Deadline: Friday, March 10, 2017
Abstract Instructions Public relations faculty and graduate students are invited to submit competitive abstracts for completed research or research in-progress for presentation at the PRSA Educators Academy Mini-Friday. Research related to public relations trends is encouraged. We are especially interested in research related to social media and ethics.
All abstracts will be peer reviewed. All abstracts should be submitted by email as two-page attachments with author names and affiliations and whether submitter is a student or faculty member indicated on the first page and a blind copy of the one-page abstract on the second page. Please include author contact information in the email. Abstracts should be submitted as Microsoft Word files. Acceptance of abstract requires that at least one or all authors will register, present and participate in the conference. Awards will be presented for top faculty and top student abstract. Research will be presented in roundtable format.
The registration fee will be $25 for students, and $40 for faculty members and includes a continental breakfast and lunch. The event is free to members of the PRSA Educators Academy.

Panel Proposal Instructions We invite submissions of panel discussion proposals that investigate key issues and trends in public relations. Panels may focus on research and teaching in public relations. Submissions should address topics that benefit educators and students interested in PR pedagogy, practice and practical application.
Suggested topics include: Trends in public relations practice and education. PR in crisis and risk management. Image management and repair. Emerging technology and social media platforms. Ethics and corporate social responsibility initiatives in public relations.
Measurement and research theory and trends. Diversity issues in public relations. Panel Proposals must include: A title that indicates the panel’s theme. The names, titles and affiliations of up to three panelists and a moderator.
A brief description of the panel (100-150 words). The name and contact information of the panel organizer. Submissions will be peer-reviewed. Send completed panel proposals to: [log in to unmask]
