The College of Saint Rose invites applications and nominations for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor of Communications in the School of Arts and Humanities to start August 2018.

The Communications Department engages students in both innovative and rigorous educational experiences, while providing practical experiences that develop students' critical thinking. The Department has an established brand locally and nationally. Alumni, employers, and internship sites indicate that students are equipped to function in and contribute to professional-level practice in communications work settings. The Department's high expectations, broad-based academic program, and up-to-date facilities are key factors in students developing into professional-level practitioners.

Responsibilities will include teaching 12 credits per semester of undergraduate courses in Public Relations and Advertising, engaging in scholarship, attending internal and external events applicable to the College and the candidate's academic discipline, academic advising, program assessment, curriculum development, and participation in Department, School, and College committees.


Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in public relations or a related communications field, a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, evidence of scholarly and/or professional work in public relations and advertising, superior written and oral communication skills, working knowledge of strategic communications and analytics, and will be proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite and social media. Preference will be given to candidates with previous teaching and professional experience in public relations and advertising.
