The University of Alaska Anchorage seeks to diversify its faculty. That's why the provost has created a multicultural postdoctoral fellows program. The three-year fellowship appointment will provide postdoctoral candidates, including those who have completed a recognized terminal degree in journalism, communication or related field with career development opportunities in academia through mentoring, teaching and research experiences. The fellowships are intended to enrich multiculturalism in the university and the educational experiences of all students.

Through this program, pathways will be created for Multicultural Fellows to develop successful academic careers potentially within UAA as well as at other institutions of higher education. The Office of the Provost and the Office of Alaska Natives and Diversity will administer the program. The ideal candidate would be able to straddle disciplines, such as journalism and mass communications and anthropology or public health. UAA is definitely a university where you can make a big difference!

If you'd like to work at a postdoctoral fellow at UAA, contact us immediately. We need to submit a proposal to the provost by Dec. 1.
